From time to time we will receive requests from previous clients, new owners or members of the general public for information from our files. Our recommendation is making the local Council your first point of contact. Open access information must be disclosed by the Council unless it is not in the public interest to do so.

Our company Privacy and Disclosure of Information Policy covers personal information as defined by the Privacy Act 1988 and all information collected by Local in conjunction with the certification functions carried out under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979. There are very limited circumstances where we can provide information to any other party than our Applicant or the local Council.

If you have contacted Council and still require information from one of our files, please complete the Request for Access to Information Application Form and email to [email protected]

All applications will incur an archive retrieval fee of $150 plus GST as well as a $30 plus GST administration fee.

The application will be processed and considered within 21 days of the receipt of the application and the Applicant will be notified of Local’s decision in relation to the release of the requested information.

It must be understood that by making an Application for Access to Information there is no guarantee that Local will be able to provide this information. The applicant may also be liable for any additional fees prior to the release of the documentation. These fees may include but are not limited to archive retrieval, scanning and also fees for the provision of legal advice.
